Eligibility Criteria

For curb to curb livery service rides through ALS RI:

  • Person must be registered with ALS RI and live within RI.
  • Person must not have any other alternative transportation services available (such as transportation available through Medicaid or the VA).

Transportation Program Utilization

The transportation program accommodates both non-wheelchair and wheelchair users. The program may be used for round-trip rides to and from ALS Clinics and/or Neurology offices in RI and may also be used for other types of medical appointments. Rides are approved based on available funding.

How to Make Requests

Please call us directly at 401-732-1609 or e-mail support@alsunitedri.org to make a transportation request. Please be prepared to provide us with the following information: Location, Date, Time & Duration of your Appointment. Should you have any questions about the arrangements of your ride or issues following a ride, please contact us directly.

The progression of ALS varies significantly from one person to another. Responding to each person's individual needs, our organization is available to provide vital services and reliable information through strategic community partnerships.

Register with us to access free, personalized services—available to all individuals living with ALS, regardless of insurance coverage or immigration status.

Once registered, you’ll meet with our Care Services Team, who will work closely with you to identify your current needs and plan for future support. Research shows that people with ALS who receive comprehensive, individualized care often experience a significantly improved quality of life.
