Support and Resources for Children

It is not easy to talk to young ones about ALS. We have resources for young people of all ages.

Financial Assistance Programs

We offer financial assistance to help ease the challenges of living with ALS. Our programs provide support for respite care and home modifications, designed to improve quality of life for patients and caregivers.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a Rhode Island resident diagnosed with ALS
  • Provide an official letter of diagnosis from a licensed physician

Full details for each program are outlined below.

Respite Program

We partner with trusted home health providers to deliver essential services that support both patients and caregivers. These services may include homemakers, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and house cleaning.

Participants in this program receive an annual stipend to help cover the cost of respite care, ensuring caregivers have the opportunity to rest and recharge while patients receive quality support.

Home Modification Program

We provide a one-time stipend to assist with essential home modifications that improve accessibility and safety for individuals living with ALS. Common modifications include installing ramps or making bathroom adjustments.

Families may also benefit from our partnerships with local vendors who offer special pricing on home modification services and equipment for our patients and their caregivers.

We can only offer free services with the help of donors and fundraisers like you!
